An Intimate Alpine Retreat
The Residence Myoko is a refined, adults-only ski-in ski-out lodge in Myoko Kogen, created for those who value exceptional skiing, elevated comfort and genuine hospitality.
Founded by Kate and Ricky Megee, the original owners of The Address Akakura, The Residence represents the next chapter in our journey in Myoko. After many years welcoming guests to the mountain, we envisioned something more intimate: a place where skiing, restoration and connection could unfold at a slower, more considered pace.
With just ten guest rooms and a maximum of twenty guests, The Residence allows us to remain personally involved in each stay. The atmosphere is calm, welcoming and intentionally curated. Designed to feel relaxed, refined and deeply comfortable.
Mornings begin with fresh breakfast overlooking forest and mountain. Days are spent carving through Myoko’s legendary powder, stepping directly from the lodge onto the slopes. Afternoons invite you to restore in our private onsens or sauna.
Evenings are where The Residence truly comes into its own.
Twice weekly, we host seasonal in-house dining evenings inspired by Japanese and Italian cuisine. Optional wine and sake pairings elevate the experience further. On alternate nights, guests may explore Akakura’s restaurants before returning for fireside drinks at our staffed bar.
For us, The Residence is not simply accommodation. It is a place to share the mountain we love and to offer a stay that feels effortless, personal and deeply considered.
We look forward to welcoming you to Myoko.
586-17 Akakura, Myoko, Niigata, 949-2106
Positioned between the Akakura Onsen home ski trail and Akakan Ski Resort, The Residence Myoko sits at the heart of Myoko Kogen’s celebrated powder region.
True ski-in ski-out access allows guests to step directly onto the slopes each morning and return effortlessly at day’s end. Surrounded by forest and framed by mountain views, the lodge feels both immersed in nature and perfectly connected to the mountain.
During winter, access is via over-snow vehicle as the property sits within the active ski resort. From spring through autumn, the lodge is accessible by road.
World Class Powder
Myoko is renowned as one of the snowiest places on earth, receiving up to 15 metres of light, dry powder each season often the highest snowfall in Japan. With terrain suited to every level of skier and snowboarder and multiple resorts within a short drive, Myoko offers both variety and depth that rival international destinations.
Therapeutic Onsens
Mt. Myoko is an active stratovolcano that feeds mineral-rich hot spring water to the region’s onsens. Naturally abundant in calcium, sodium and magnesium, these waters are said to soothe muscles and rejuvenate the skin. The perfect complement to long days on the mountain.
If The Residence feels like the right place for your time in Myoko, we’d be delighted to host you.
