Learn about The Residence Myoko experience

Is The Residence Myoko adults-only?

Yes. The Residence Myoko is an intimate, adults-only ski-in ski-out lodge welcoming guests aged 18 and over. With just ten guest rooms and a maximum of twenty guests, this allows us to preserve the relaxed, refined atmosphere our guests value from private onsen sessions to hosted dining evenings and fireside après ski.

Is the lodge truly ski-in ski-out?

Yes. The Residence sits directly between the Akakura Onsen ski trail and Akakan Ski Resort, offering genuine ski-in ski-out access. Guests can step out, clip in and return directly to the lodge at the end of the day.

What dining options are available?

Breakfast is served daily overlooking forest and mountain views.

Twice weekly, we host seasonal in-house dining evenings featuring curated menus inspired by Japanese and Italian cuisine. Optional sake and wine pairings are available. The cost is ¥10,000 per person.

On alternate evenings, guests may explore Akakura’s restaurants using our complimentary evening shuttle service. We will contact you prior to arrival to assist with restaurant reservations, which are highly recommended during peak season.

What is included in my stay?

Your stay at our 10-room alpine retreat includes:

  • Daily breakfast

  • Après ski snacks

  • Private shuttle pick-up and drop-off from Myoko Kogen Station

  • Evening shuttle service into Akakura town

  • Access to our onsite mineral onsens and sauna

Each afternoon from 4pm, our fireside bar opens, offering a thoughtfully selected range of wines, sake, cocktails and premium spirits.

Our intention is to provide a seamless and considered mountain experience from arrival to departure.

Are the onsens private?

Yes. Our onsite mineral-rich onsens can be reserved privately for your use, allowing you to relax and restore in complete comfort.

Can the lodge be booked exclusively?

Yes. Whole-lodge reservations are available for private groups, retreats or special gatherings, subject to availability.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is between 3pm and 9pm. Check-out is 10am on the day of departure.

As the lodge is located within the ski resort and access requires crossing an active ski run, arrivals and departures are carefully managed during resort operating hours. To ensure safety and minimise disruption, access to the lodge between 10am and 3pm is not available.

We are unable to accommodate arrivals after 9pm.

Do you accommodate dietary requirements?

Yes. Please advise us of any dietary requirements prior to arrival and we will do our best to accommodate them.

What happens in the event of poor snow conditions?

As The Residence Myoko is located within a ski resort area, weather conditions and lift operations are beyond our control. Refunds are not issued due to lift closures, snow conditions or other circumstances outside our responsibility.
